
Jim Appel has lived in Santa Barbara for more than 50 years. An alum of San Marcos High School, Jim holds a BS degree in Business from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and also earned an MS degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. A 35-year career as a financial analyst and administrator for technology and manufacturing firms followed his college years. Jim's management responsibilities in the private sector included financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and new business proposals --all well-developed skills which he now brings to Tremblay Financial Services in his role as a financial advisor. Jim holds the designation of Chartered Financial Consultant as awarded by the American College of Financial Services.
Jim has done charitable work in Mexico and most recently volunteered in developing infrastructure projects for a non-profit in Costa Rica. He has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys camping, scuba diving, road and mountain biking, kayaking, and water skiing. Jim's scuba diving activities have taken him around the world, from the Truk Lagoon in Micronesia to the Ras Mohammed National Park in Egypt.
